  1. Hello, I’m trying to fix a piece of furniture for a colleague. It apparently broke some time ago and they lost one of the legs. The legs is about 8″ long and 1-3/4″ in diameter and has a very simple profile.

Is anybody out there willing and able to reproduce it for me? I don’t have a lathe or any woodturning experience. I can drop off one of the legs and of course would be willing to pay for your time.

    I live in Springfield, VA.

    Thanks,

    Shawn

    1. shawn,

A new leg will cost $40.00 plus wood. Turnaround time 5 – 7 days. Do you know what specie of wood? How will you supply specs? A drawing with size specs is best but I can work from a photo if necessary.

  2. Thanks but unfortunately it does not have bird feeder. I would like to suggest recording these demonstrations so members have access for at least thirty days.

  3. I joined CAW last December and was able to attend one meeting before everything shut down. So I do now know many of the members.
I have a friend who is looking for a bench top jointer and a portable table saw that a member no longer needs.

    1. The Penta CAW demonstration on ornaments as well as the handouts can be seen at the web site carolinacraftscenter.com, under resources/past demos.

    2. CAW has some of the kits he has put together for this project. The kit has; block of wood 2X2x7, bird feeding tube, bird food, eyelet and 3 birds. This is everything you will need to complete this project. We have four of them, they are $10 each. Contact us from our Contacts page to arrange an order and pickup place and time.

  4. The site looks great. Congratulations!

I really liked Charlie’s vacuum chucks in the latest newsletter. I would like to transfer from a lamp-rod system to that system but I’m having trouble obtaining a rotary vacuum chuck adapter. Craft Supplies USA offers one but they keep slipping the delivery date. For those that use this system, where did you purchase or have yours made. Thanks. mheatwole@yahoo.com.

    1. Thanks Mike! Between the new blog I setup and the postings on our FaceBook page, I believe we are making a great platform for communication and sharing of ideas!

      1. Is this new blog you have mentioned in the newsletter? I haven’t had a chance to read the newsletter.

  5. Thank you to those that set this up. I look forward to asking lots of questions, and perhaps I can offer a reply to a few others ask.

    1. You are very welcome! I am looking forward to hearing from many people, both members and ones new to our site!

    1. Agree, a great opportunity for the membership to communicate their questions and show off their latest work.
